California Community Action Partnership Association Granted $400k RPIC Funding

For Immediate Release

SACRAMENTO – On October 18, 2023, the California Community Action Partnership Association (CalCAPA) was granted $400,000 through the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Training and Technical Assistance Program, Regional Performance and Innovation Consortia (RPIC) Capacity Building and Quality Improvement, by the Office of Community Services (OCS)– a division of the Administration of Children and Families (ACF).

Issued as a 3-year cooperative agreement, the purpose of Regional Performance and Innovation Consortia (RPIC) is to support ongoing state, regional, and national training and technical assistance (T/TA) strategies for collaboration, capacity-building, and exemplary practice in the CSBG program and among state Community Action Agency associations. Funding will be divided equitably amongst Region IX member state associations: Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada.

CalCAPA Executive Director, David Knight states, “RPIC funding is vital to both building state capacity as well as helping form a stronger, more efficient regional approach to training and technical assistance. We are thankful for the support of OCS in ensuring that we continue the great work of improving the lives of families and building communities.”

The Region IX Community Action Associations are seeing firsthand the urgent need to bring timely  Training and Technical Assistance resources to their local Community Action Agencies that will inform further research and development of vital safety net programs, maximize and increase the scope of their impact in communities, and use data-informed practices to advocate for changes at local, state, and national levels.
