CalCAPA’s federal priorities focus on protecting and increasing Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funding, reauthorizing and strengthening the CSBG Act, preserving local flexibility, supporting the Community Action network’s capacity, and advancing policies that promote economic mobility and reduce poverty.

CSBG is facilitated through the federal Office of Community Services under the Department of Health and Human Services. Due to the wide breadth of the Community Action Network and its agencies, CalCAPA also supports agencies with efforts related to the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and the Department of Energy (DOE) Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP).
