CalCAPA Academy Region-wide expansion

CalCAPA Academy will expand regionally in 2020. The Region IX RPIC has established a core Moodle Committee and is actively seeking more input from Agencies, State Offices, and National Support groups. To be considered for the Region IX Moodle Committee, please send requests to Lawrence Hiner (lhiner@calcapa.org).

Mission-Based Leadership (Spring and Summer Workshops)

Mission-Based Leadership will kick off with the Winter Workshop in December 2019. That workshop will repeat in 2020 and be joined by two additional workshops in Spring and Summer (exact dates and locations TBA). The Spring workshop will focus on Working with a Board of Directors and CSBG Fiscal Training. The Summer Workshop will delve into Hiring Staff & Delegating Responsibilities and ROMA of EDs. The cost of attending a 2-3 day workshop is $599. CalCAPA Members and new EDs receive significant discounts to attend.

ROMA for Contractors

One of the most requested training workshops that came out during the course of 2019 is for a version of Intro to ROMA that is more suitable to CSBG sub-contractors that provide program services. Specifically, familiarizing contractors with the reporting process and why measurements are taken the way they are. So far, CalCAPA has two open requests for hosting ROMA for Contractors (Monterey and Amador). Contact training@calcapa.org to request a new area to host a workshop in 2020.

Annual Conference

CalCAPA will wrap up 2020 with the annual conference in California. As we prepare to release our invitation for speakers, please consider what sort of topics or learning tracks that you would find appealing. This year, the conference will showcase more program-specific content and has an opportunity for new tracks like CSBG Contractors. Let us know what you would like to learn about.
